Frederick Harrup was living in Whitecroft Road, Meldreth at the outbreak of World War One. He enlisted in the Army in 1916, joining the Suffolk Regiment (no. 265617) in January of that year. Later he was transferred as a Private in the 431st Agricultural Company Labour Corps (no. 550158) and posted abroad. He was 'demobbed' at the end of 1919, returning to his family home, by then in Melbourn. He is pictured here marrying his wife, Hilda Dorothy, in October 1923. He died in August 1955.
